Sweetness | [Philadelphia Area Newborn Photographer]

Last weekend I met sweet M for his newborn portraits when he was just eight days old! He’s the cutest little thing—I just love all that dark hair he has! You may remember his parents from their maternity session.

We did a mix of natural light and studio photos, and his grandma was even in some shots (I’m saving those for their full gallery). The booties he’s wearing below were made by his great-grandma in Brazil. I’m sure she can’t wait to see a photo of him wearing them, so without further ado . . . heeeere’s M!

R and A, your full gallery is almost ready—I’ll be in touch very soon. Thanks so much for sharing this exciting time with me!

The Browns | [Chester County Family Photographer]

Okay, so this family isn’t really named Brown. But check out these kids’ eyes! Brown, no?! After rescheduling a few time due to weather (what’s up with all this rain?), I photographed them last week at Springton Manor Farm. But you’ve seen them ’round these parts before . . . little Z was only a few weeks old when we did her newborn portraits. We’ve met a few times since then . . . most recently in the summer of 2008. I can’t believe how little she was! And now she’s a big sister to H. Or—as he’s sometimes known—”Juicy H.” He’s a sweet little charmer who’s always on the go.

Without further ado, here are their sneak peek photos:

C and K, I hope you had a great trip this weekend, and I’ll be in touch soon with your full gallery!

Cruisin’ | [Chester County Family Photographer]

If you’re wondering why the blog has been a little quiet lately, it’s because my husband and I just returned from a seven day cruise to the western Caribbean. It was wonderful! We sailed to Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Costa Maya (Mexico), and Roatan (Honduras) aboard the Celebrity Solstice.

We had activities booked in the ports and I didn’t want to worry about my camera, so most of these photos were taken on the ship.

Here you can see:

  • My husband as we set sail from Ft. Lauderdale
  • The Lawn Club (real grass!) on the top deck of the ship
  • A delicious cocktail made with rum, fresh raspberries, and liquid nitrogen
  • The cashout ticket from my $579 win on the penny slot machine(!)
  • A view of the ship as we tendered to Grand Cayman
  • The pool deck where we spent a lot of time during the week

It’s nice to be home, but we’re already talking about our next cruise!

Heidi - Looks like you had a blast, Sheila! I wouldn’t mind cruising someday…maybe when the kids are a bit older. 🙂

Flat Riley | [Chester County Children’s Photographer]

Have you ever heard of Flat Stanley? Here’s how one of the reviews on Amazon describes him:

“[Flat Stanley is a boy] who was flattened by a bulletin board. Ending up four feet tall, a foot wide, and half-an-inch thick, Stanley discovers that being flat is not only novel (he can slip under cracks), but also exciting. He is mailed off to California in a large envelope; he can be flown like a huge kite; and one night, disguised as a shepherdess, he hides in a painting in the art museum and foils some thieves.”

My cousin’s son has been reading about Flat Stanley, and he sent Flat Riley to visit us for the last week or so. We’ve been on all sorts of adventures together!

He was here with us on Easter and got to enjoy our beautiful weather. (Shorts and bare feet on April 4? Amazing!)

Then last Wednesday, I took him to Philadelphia to see all the sights. Unfortunately, we could only go after work, so many of them were closed. But it still counts, right? 🙂

Flat Riley will be heading home to Minnesota later this week with these photos, a letter to the real Riley, and a few souvenirs from the Liberty Bell and Valley Forge National Park. I hope he’s enjoyed his time here!
