I got to hang out with sweet Cole for a while this afternoon. It was tough to coax a smile out him, but could he look any cuter in his Santa hat? I don’t think so!
This past weekend, my husband and I volunteered at a Blessing of the Animals event. We make a pretty good team—I take the photos, and he edits and prints them on the spot. All the proceeds go to Glenmoore Small Animal Rescue (GSAR), and this year’s event—which also included a raffle and silent auction—was very successful.
I think this is the fourth year that we’ve created portraits at the event, but throughout the year I also photograph animals that are waiting for homes so they can be featured on Petfinder.com. I love being able to help out in this way. It’s great to meet the various dogs and cats (and guinea pigs, hamsters, and rabbits!) and know that I’m playing a small part in helping them finding happy homes.
We adopted Maggie from GSAR two years ago, and she’s really become part of our family. She brings us joy and laughter every day!
If you’re thinking of getting a pet, please consider rescue. I know GSAR would be happy to help you find just the right new member of your family!
You may recognize the sweet face in the photo above because he was featured in my previous post. I made an accordion album using the images from our session. I really like these albums because it’s almost like getting two things in one. The compact size makes it easy to tuck it into your purse or bag so you can show off your little one at every opportunity! But it’s also great for display—there are images on both sides of each page, and you can stand it on a table or desk.
Each leather album holds twelve 4 x 6 images plus the small cut-out image on the front cover. The background colors can be changed to coordinate with the photos, and you can choose to include text. Makes a great gift for grandparents!
