Little Brother | [Main Line Newborn Photographer]

I had such a great time working with this family! I photographed G as a newborn, and I was excited to be invited back to work with her little brother, D.

We began the session with some studio shots on the black backdrop, because they want D’s photos to coordinate with the beautiful newborn images of G and her parents that we took two years ago. G was happy to dance and twirl on the “stage” for me, and we sang some of her favorite songs. Don’t all two-year-olds love Singin’ in the Rain? 🙂

Then Mom and I brought G out to their three-season porch so we could focus exclusively on him in some natural light. It took a little time to get him comfortable, but the photos we got definitely made it worth the wait!

R family, I’ve been working on your proofs this week, and I’ll have them ready soon. In the meantime, enjoy your sneak peek, and thanks again for inviting me to document this exciting time in your lives!

Viva M! | [Philadelphia Area Baby Photographer]

Oh my goodness! I can’t help but smile when I look through the photos we took at this little man’s one-year portrait session. Isn’t he the cutest thing?! I’ve known him since he was a newborn (session here), and we also met for his six month portraits (session here). It always amazes me how much babies grow and change in the first year.

We had a beautiful Saturday morning to spend at the park, and M absolutely loved the swings and other playground equipment. We finished the session with some cake smash photos in the family’s living room. He wasn’t quite sure what to do with that big cake, but he clapped and his face totally lit up when his parents sang the birthday song. But they couldn’t just sing it any old way—he only got excited when they sang it in Portuguese!

R family, I’ve really enjoyed getting to know you over the course of the last year. Thanks for inviting me to share this exciting time in your lives, and thank you for the goodies you sent home with me! 🙂

Flat Lauren | [Chester County Children’s Photographer]

If you’ve been hanging around Sheila Y Photography for a while, you may remember when Flat Riley visited last spring. (If you need an explanation of Flat Stanley and the whole “flat kid” concept, click through and read the details on last year’s post.)

This year, we have Flat Lauren visiting us (just one of the benefits of being the only relative who lives out of state)! Thank goodness she’s much smaller than Flat Riley was—she’s much easier to carry around! Lauren is my sister’s younger daughter, and she just turned eight a few weeks ago.

We brought Flat Lauren into the city a few times so she could see a Phillies game and see the sights in Old City. And of course, she got a few souvenirs! This week, we’ll pack her up with her photos and souvenirs and send her back to Lauren’s classroom in Minnesota.

Of course, I had to include a photo of the real Lauren that I took last summer. Click through the thumbnails below to see everything we did in Philadelphia.

New Card Format | [Chester County Senior Photographer]

I’m so excited to share these graduation announcements! Not only are they a great design, but I just love the unique shape—I know J’s graduation party guests will be excited to pull them out of the envelope. And they’re not just for seniors—if you like the die-cut shape, we can do it for party invitations, birth announcements, or anything else you like!
