Blue & Brown | [Chester County Child Photographer]

When I rang the bell at the P house on Sunday afternoon, four-year-old Mr. Brown Eyes opened the door and let me in. He was happy to show me his huge stash of Halloween candy, and he couldn’t wait to show me his bike with training wheels that he’d gotten from his big brother. And then I got out my camera and spent the rest of the afternoon trying to capture a picture of his face as he ran away from me! Ha! But don’t worry—I managed to have the last laugh. 🙂

Now Mr. Blue Eyes, on the other hand, had no problem whatsoever hamming it up for the camera. He did everything I asked, and even asked me to take a few photos that he thought would be particularly funny. (Don’t worry, Mom—I won’t be sharing those here!)

We had beautiful weather and we took full advantage of it, playing in the leaves and on the swingset.

L and R, thanks so much for inviting me to photograph your fun-loving boys. I had a great time with them, and we got some beautiful shots. I’ll be in touch soon with your gallery!

When I walked into this couple’s living room and saw this painting and the couch underneath it, I knew we had to use it in their photos. And then they told me that the woman playing the keyboard on the right side of the image is the mom-to-be. How cool is that?!

We took several shots of this couch scene, but I chose to use this particular one because of the ears peeking into the bottom of the frame. Their cats were awfully curious about what the heck we were doing!

We did a few shots in C’s music studio (she’s a professional pianist and piano teacher) because we wanted to incorporate the cool green wall. We also caught a small part of the grand piano, and I like that it’s a part of the image but not the focus of the image.

And finally, C wanted me to capture some photos of her doing yoga. I swear, she’s in better shape at 37 weeks pregnant than I was at age 17! Doesn’t she look great?

C and A, it was great working with you on Saturday, and I look forward to meeting your new little guy in just a few weeks!

Little but Big | [Chester County Newborn Photographer]

He looks pretty little, doesn’t he? Looks can sometimes be deceiving—he was over 9 pounds at birth! I was so excited to photograph him because I’ve known his mama since she lived in Chicago and I lived in Minneapolis (that’s almost 12 years, if you’re keeping track at home). We both ended up in Pennsylvania, and live about 15 minutes from each other!

It was a dark and overcast day, so we decided to rock the white backdrop for this session. He was so good to me.

I love the close-up shots where you can see all the details in that sweet little face.

And of course, I couldn’t leave without taking some shots of his big brother (on the left) and “aunt.” Can you guess why her name is Mittens?

J and M, it was great to spend some time with you now that you’re a family of three. I look forward to watching your little guy grow, and I’ll be in touch soon with the rest of your gallery.

On the Go | [Main Line Child Photographer]

20091030-2

Boy, is the title of this post appropriate! This is the third time I’ve photographed this little girl (check out her newborn session and her six-month session), but it’s the first time since she became mobile. I have a lot of images like the one on the right above!

She has such beautiful brown eyes, and just a touch of red in her hair. I hadn’t seen her in about a year, and wow! Has it ever grown!

20091030-1

Of all the things we did, she loved playing in the leaves the most. She didn’t want to leave this area!

20091030-3

S family, I know you’ve been anxiously waiting for this sneak peek. Did we get some good shots? Of course! 🙂 More to come in your gallery . . . .
