I met the nicest parents-to-be at their maternity session last night. A wonderful couple who’s expecting their first baby next month. And I’m so excited because I’ll be photographing their sweet girl during her whole first year!

We had a lot of fun with different poses on the black backdrop, and then we went to a nearby park for several shots. We ended with the last image below—Dad gave the stuffed dog to Mom to keep her company while he was out of town.

E is for “Early” | [Chester County Newborn Photographer]

When I did the maternity session blog post for this girl’s mama, the title was “Waiting.” Well, C and B didn’t have to wait as long as they thought because little E arrived almost three weeks early! In fact, we did her newborn session about four days before her due date.

We were fortunate to have a rare sunny day! We headed outdoors with a basket and one of E’s blankets that was perfect for the shot you see above. It’s made of bamboo, and it’s almost as soft as her new skin. I just love her little toes peeking out!

Then we set up in the nursery and let her snooze away. I love how she sleeps with her arms up near her head. That was all her own doing—no posing in this shot!

And finally, some shots with Mom and Dad. They’re so happy to have her here, healthy and safe. C and B, I’ll be in touch soon with your gallery!

Penni - I love the shot against the fence. Did you use a diffuser to even out the light? The toes peeking out are the icing on the cake. Great work as always!

In a few years he’s probably going to hate me for putting that hat on him. But you know what? I don’t care—it’s too cute for words! 🙂 We did his mom’s maternity session a few months ago, and when I learned she was having a boy I just had to have the hat and the blue wrap.

This little guy is #4 in a busy household. But that didn’t stop him from sleeping through most of his session. He was so good to me! J and R, I’ll be in touch soon with the rest of your gallery. In the meantime, enjoy a few more images from L’s session.

This session was so much fun! I met the mom-to-be several months ago when I had some physical therapy for my jaw, and during our first session (before she was even showing) I mentioned that I do a lot of maternity and newborn photography. She said, “Then I’ll have to come and see you in a few months!” I’m so glad it worked out and we were able to do a session.

I’ve done a lot of maternity sessions, but for one reason or another most of them have been indoors. I was excited that we had nice weather so we could do a mix of indoor and outdoor images.

The last photo was taken in a bit of an “unconventional” setting . . . outside a funeral home! We parked in the home’s parking lot so we could walk to a nearby location, and when we saw the landscaping we all thought it’d be a great spot. I hope they don’t have security cameras! 🙂

B and C, thanks so much for a fun session! I’m looking forward to meeting your little one, and I’ll be in touch soon with the rest of your gallery.
